Israel Reports New Iranian Missile Launches as Tensions Rise
In a statement, the army said its air defense systems were actively working to intercept the incoming projectiles, urging the public to “follow the instructions” issued by authorities.
Earlier in the day, Iranian officials reported that an Israeli airstrike hit a petrochemical facility in southwestern Iran, causing partial damage to the industrial complex.
Sirens were also reported across multiple cities in central and southern Israel following the missile launches attributed to Tehran.
The region has remained highly tense since joint US and Israeli airstrikes on Iran in late February triggered retaliatory attacks by Iran on Israel and other regional states hosting US military assets.
Although a temporary ceasefire was reached on April 8, later negotiations reportedly stalled amid disagreements over implementation and subsequent developments in the region.
