Iran Pledges Strong Response to US, Israeli Attacks

(MENAFN) Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian vowed on Sunday to retaliate against any US-Israeli assaults originating from foreign soil, emphasizing that his nation regards its neighbors as "brothers."

Speaking during a visit to a healthcare facility, Pezeshkian told a state-run news outlet that his Saturday comments, in which he expressed regret over attacks on neighboring nations, “have been misinterpreted.”

“We firmly oppose and will respond decisively to those who strike our country. Without a doubt, our armed forces and the volunteer Basij units, stationed throughout the nation, will protect the country with their full strength,” Pezeshkian stated.

“Iran will not succumb to intimidation, oppression, or aggression.”

The president urged Iran and its neighboring countries “to settle their disputes internally, resisting attempts by adversaries to drag them into conflict and create divisions.”

Since February 28, more than 1,200 individuals, including Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and senior military officials, have been killed in US-Israeli attacks targeting Iran.

In retaliation, Tehran has carried out drone and missile operations against Israel and Gulf states hosting US military forces.
