Germany Urges Citizens to Leave Iran Amid Rising Regional Tensions

(MENAFN) Germany’s embassy in Iran on Friday reiterated its advice for German citizens to depart the country due to escalating regional risks. The diplomatic mission warned that travel to Iran is strongly discouraged and emphasized that citizens should leave while possible.

"The security situation in Iran and the entire region is extremely volatile and very tense. Further escalation and military clashes cannot be ruled out. Further restrictions on air traffic, including flight cancellations and airspace closures, may occur at any time," the embassy stated.
The announcement also noted that consular support on the ground is currently limited: the German Embassy in Tehran can provide only restricted assistance to citizens remaining in the country.

The advisory follows comments by US President Donald Trump earlier on Friday, in which he said he was "considering" a limited military strike against Iran to pressure the country into an agreement. He did not offer additional details, while the United States continues to increase its military presence in the region.
