Israel conducts strikes on Hezbollah in southern Lebanon
The Israeli army has maintained regular operations in the area despite a ceasefire agreement with Hezbollah in November 2024, which ended more than a year of hostilities.
Last week, the Lebanese army says it completes the first phase of disarming Hezbollah south of the Litani River as part of a nationwide plan. Israel, however, describes these efforts as insufficient.
The villages targeted in Monday’s strikes, located north of the Litani River, are not included in the first phase of the disarmament process.
Separately, an Israeli strike on Friday kills one person in southern Lebanon, the country’s health ministry reports.
